LeRoy Arthur Bock was born January 11, 1928 in Vail Township, Redwood County, the son of Richard C. & Alma L. (Weber) Bock. He attended country school District # 76 and Wabasso High School. He was baptized at the Evangelical Parsonage on July 22, 1928 by George Kirgiss and later confirmed in the Evangelical faith. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. LeRoy was united in marriage to Betty Anderson at the United Methodist Church in New Avon Township on June 19, 1954 and recently celebrated their 53rd year of marriage. They farmed in Vail Township for over 30 years where they raised their 3 children. LeRoy retired in 1990 and the couple moved into Lamberton. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lamberton, American Legion in Lamberton, and the Lamberton Historical Society. LeRoy served as the Sunday School Secretary at New Avon United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, attending auctions, gardening, exhibiting at the local fair, and spending time with his grandchildren. LeRoy was especially proud to receive the Purple Heart Award for military service.

LeRoy died on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls, MN at the age of 79 years.

He is survived by his wife - Betty (Anderson) Bock of Lamberton; children - Perry and wife Patti Bock of New Ulm, Janet and husband Bart Bushinger of Champlin, and Wallace and wife Becky Bock of Marshall; 5 grandchildren - Perry Jr. Bock, Rosella Bock, Kayla Bushinger, Nicholas Bushinger, and Meredith Bock; brothers - Alvin and wife Faith Bock of Fairfax, Milan Bock of Wabasso, and Glen and wife Shirley Bock of Wabasso; sisters - Beulah Thomssen of Annandale and Ruth and husband John Maras of Springfield; a sister-in-law - Nelda Simning of Wabasso; and a brother-in-law - Dallas and wife Benice Anderson of Richmond, MO; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law - Gordon Thomssen.
