Jessie was the daughter of John F. W. Steen & Ellen M. Wier. She married Joseph Flier on Feb. 9, 1913 at Tama, IA. They were the parents of Bertha, Berniece, Helen, and Orville.

Mrs. Flier was born April 8, 1894 at Paullina to Mr. and Mrs. John Steen and was educated in the Tama schools. She was married to Joseph Flier Feb. 9, 1913 at Tama and they lived in the Armstrong area the past 58 years. She was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Oral (Bertha) Headrick, Curlew; and Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Anderson, Savage, Minn.; one son, Orville J. Flier, Burnsville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Wilbert (Violet) Haseman, Crete, Ill.
