Flier, 82, Armstrong, were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating and burial at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died May 7 at the Fairmont Community Hospital. Henry Funeral Home, Armstrong, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Flier was born April 8, 1894 at Paullina to Mr. and Mrs. John Steen and was educated in the Tama schools. She was married to Joseph Flier Feb. 9, 1913 at Tama and they lived in the Armstrong area the past 58 years. She was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Oral (Bertha) Headrick, Curlew; and Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Anderson, Savage, Minn.; one son, Orville J. Flier, Burnsville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Wilbert (Violet) Haseman, Crete, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970, her parents and one daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 10, 1976)
