Lunenburg Co., VA Order Book 1, p.. 263 has the following court entry:
Lunenburg Co., VA Order Book #1, p. 263 - Jane Caldwell, widow and relict of Thomas Caldwell deceased came into court and relinquished her right of administration of the estate of her said husband Whereupon came William Caldwell Gent. who having made oath according to Sans Certificate for obtaining letters of administration of the estate of the said Thomas Caldwell is granted him giving security entered into and acknowledge their bond for the due and faithfull administration of the said estate.
Based upon the above Thomas Caldwell was deceased by September 1747. The above court order was followed by a July 1750 Lunenburg Co., VA court order involving an orphan of Thomas Caldwell deceased, and an Oct 1750 submission of an account of the estate of Thomas Caldwell deceased.
