Chester Eldon Heaston
Chester Eldon Heaston, 70, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Cumberland.
He was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Beatrice, Neb. His parents were Jacob Lester and Laura Rose (Whitton) Heaston. He married Mary Norris on Aug. 30, 1953. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Eldon Glen Heaston of Toledo, Ohio, Alan G. Heaston of Easton, Md., and Richard T. Heaston of Indianapolis; two daughters, Laura L. Heaston of New Albany and Cheri L. Beall of Jeffersonville; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Joseph Heaston; and two sisters, Mary Heaston and Loretta Milton.
He attended Peru State Teachers' College.
He was employed by National Life Insurance Co. as an insurance agent for 12 years.
He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice.
