Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. J.H. Gillespie at the First Baptist church in Clarendon with Rev. M.O. Evans of Brice officiating, and assisted by Rev. E.L. Moody.
Mrs. Gillespie passed away in a Memphis hospital July 10th. She was a resident of Brice for a number of years and was 54 years old at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, one son Laylon Gillespie of Leslie, two grandchildren and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were M.L. Pittman, D.T. Smallwood, Kirby Hagins, Dudley Adams, Joe Wood and Cal Holland.
Flower bearers were Mesdames Kirby Hagins, Merrill Hendrix, W.E. Davis, Wayn [sic] Rexrode and D.T. Smallwood.
Burial was in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Buntin Funeral Home.
