Mrs. Dick came to Port Arthur in 1917 from Leesville, where she had lived many years. She was a native of Cold Springs, Texas. She and her husband, E. L. Dick, were to have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary December 12 of this year. They resided at 1200 11th street.
She was the eldest daughter of the late Judge George H. Wells of Lake Charles, and a descendant of the first district judge in Louisiana, Judge Seth Lewis of Opelousas.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Dick is survived by three sons, E. J. Dick of Baton Rouge, D. L. Dick of Los Angeles, and H. A. Dick of Port Arthur; four daughters, Mrs. Elma Johnstone and Mrs. George R. Davis, both of Port Arthur, Mrs. Clyde E. Miller of Houston and Mrs. Roy Sutter of Leesville; step-mother, Mrs. Jessie B. Wells of Doucette, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Charles T. Almquist of LaPorte, Mrs. Archie Fox of Port Eads and Mrs. R. L. Lewis of Winnfield, La.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Clayton and Thompson funeral home until time of services. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery at Beaumont.
