Rose Marie Miller, 84, of Davenport, formerly of Aledo, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 at the Crest Health Center in Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Aledo Cemetery with the Rev. John Crede of the United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation is from noon to 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where memorials may be left to the Aledo United Methodist Church, OES Chapter 126, Aledo, or Ridgecrest Memorial fund.

She was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Mercer County, a daughter of C. Con and Charlotte Sunderbruch Bentley. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1934 and attended Moline Public Hospital School for Nurses, graduating in 1942. She married Dr. Wilbur A. Miller July 20, 1974 in Aledo. He died Dec. 29, 1992.

Rose was employed as a R.N. with Hershey Hospital, Muscatine; Passavant Hospital, Chicago; St. Luke's Hospital, Denver; Mercy Hospital, Iowa City; and Mercer County Hospital in Aledo. She was office nurse in her husband's medical practice from 1957 until retiring in 1976.

Her memberships include the United Methodist Church, Aledo; a 50-year member of the OES Chapter 126, Aledo; a lifetime member of the Mercer County Historical Society; Scott County Historical Society; the Plus 60 Club of Davenport and the Putnam Museum.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lois Bentley, Aledo; a niece, Jennie Lou Bentley, South Tahoe, Calif.; nephews, Richard Bentley, South Tahoe and Kenneth Bentley, Aledo.

Her parents, her husband and a brother, George, preceded her in death.

A Memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at the Koning Chapel in Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.
