Eli S. Hannoy 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 6, 2010. He was born on February 2, 1931 in Jay County, Indiana to the late Eli and Minnie Martin Hannoy. Eli grew up in Union City, Indiana and was very active in baseball and basketball. He graduated in 1949 from Union City High School and earned his Bachelors of Science from Indiana State University in 1956 and his Masters of Science from Ball State University in 1961. Eli taught for 2 years at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1954. He was a graduate of Army OCS and was a Captain and Company Commander of Youngstown, Ohio, National Guard Company at Fort Polk, Louisiana where he was honorably discharged. Eli served active status reserve until 1964. He married Marilyn Cunningham Hannoy in 1956 and she preceded him in death in 1991. Eli married Doris Overmyer in 1993 and she survives. Eli spent 17 years with Backstay Welt Company, Union City, Indiana mainly as Plant Manager of its Chicago, Illinois plant. He owned Loy Instrument Company in Indianapolis, Indiana for 22 years, retiring in 1997.

Eli is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Steve and Doug (Ann) Hannoy; daughter, Paula Papazian; grandchildren, Lindsey, Eli, Joshua, Lorna, Claudia and Grace Hannoy and Brittany Papazian; step daughters, Kristi (Tom) Ebbinghause, children, Adam and Abby Bisesi, and Debbie (John) Dunning, children, Nathan and Erin Dunning; sister, Anna Towner of Greenwood, Indiana; sister-in-law, Betty Reed of Clinton, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Herbert Loy.
