DIED - Olive V. Delavan, Oct. 28th departed this life. At the time of her death she resided with her daughter, Mrs. S.E. Linville. She was born near Dayton, Ohio in the year of 1813, being in her 82nd year. On July 9th 1834 was married to A.M. Delavan and moved to Indiana where she lived until 1857. They then moved to Cass county, Mo., where they resided until 1863, from which place they moved to Mills county. She survived her husband 11 years, 6 months, and 4 days. She is the mother of eight children, six of whom are living. Two are in California, one in Cass county, Mo., and the rest in this county. All were present during her sickness and suffering except the three residing at a distance. She became a member of the Christian church in the year 1835 and lived a faithful and consistent christian life. Her last request to her children was that they so live that they might be prepared to meet her where parting would be no more.
