Mrs. Hilton, 90, Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Jessie Wolfe Hilton, 90, 1116 Princeton NE, died late Friday [4 Nov 1955] in an Albuquerque hospital. She had lived here seven and a half years.
For many years Mrs. Hilton was a staff and feature writer for the Daily Oklahoman and the Oklahoma City Times in Oklahoma City. She was also a free-lance contributor to many other American papers. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church; Lew Wallace Chaper, Daughters of the American Revolution; a life member of the Sorosis Club of Oklahoma City, and a member of the Progress Club of Albuquerque.
She was a granddaughter of the Rev. George Nelson Smith, who founded the city of North Port, Mich., and was the first ordained Congregational minister in that state.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Herman W. McCallister of Albuquerque; one son, Harold W. Brabant, Denison, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Clara W. Perry, Elkhart, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral details will be announced by Strong-Thomas Mortuary.
