Served 1864-65 in Co. C 42nd MO Regiment in Civil War. Contracted chronic amoebic dysentery in Tennessee.
Married 1. Mary Jane Benskin 1865-67
Married 2. Almarinda Shanklin Two sons William and Wesley. Horace died December 19, 1873 according to National Archives records.
