Services for Delores Ann Baker, 75, Athens, are scheduled for 2:00 P M Wednesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Goebel officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Baker died July 3, 2010 at home.

She was born January 29, 1935 in Pittsburg to the late Manton Jones and Lucille Pettey Alvis.

Following graduation from Pittsburg High School in 1954, Delores moved to Dallas and was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she served a 15 year tenure. The Baker family moved to Athens in 1974 and after her children were grown, Delores decided to return to the work force. She worked at Bealls Department Store 17 years, retiring in 2000.

In addition to her parents, her grandmother Minnie Purl Roberson and brother, Billy Max Alvis preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years James Baker, Athens; son Jimmy Baker, Chandler; daughters Jamey Locke, Athens; Julie Peeples and husband Eugene III, Athens; sister, Louise Dobbs, Pittsburg; grandchildren Crystal Baker Bozeman, Matthew Lee Dillon, Bryson Keith Baker, Eugene Micah Peeples; great granddaughter Claire Nevay Bozeman.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Dobbs, Craig Jones, Andy Arnold, Brad Dyer, Kebby Lusty, Gene Baker.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Baker, Robert Baker, Michael Dobbs,Vance Anderson, John Montrose, Richie Vaught, Charles Baker.
