Raymond M Atha

1953-1996


FAUCETT, MO.-Raymond M Atha, 43, Faucett, died Monday,Oct. 28, at his home after a lengthy illness of melonoma.

Mr. Atha, a farmer for 25 years, was born in St. Joseph,on Sept. 18, 1953, and a lifelong resident of the St. Joseph area.

He was a 1971 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School, St. Joseph. Mr. Atha was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph, where he was a hospitality minister. He also was a volunteer at St. Patrick's school in St. Joseph.

On March 20, 1976, he married Patti Shalz in St. Joseph. She survives of the home.

Mr. Atha was preceded in death by an infant brother, John A,; paternal grandparents, Allen and Margaret Atha; and maternal grandparents,John and Blanche Delaney.

Additional survivors: three sons, Regan A.,Reid N., and Riley P., all of the home; two daughters, Summer R, and Kelsey A., both of the home; his parents,Robert and Dorotha, St Joseph; a brother Robert J.,St. Joseph; and two sisters, Patricia Miller, St. Joseph, and Charlotte Chunn, Savannah, Mo.

Mass of Christian Burial:11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Burial:Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph

Visitation:after 10 a.m. today at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Rosary: 7 tonight at the church, with family visitation to follow. The body will be taken to the church at 6 tonight for the rosary.
