Rachel was married twice. First to Joseph Stiles. They had three children: George Dow, Joseph Mason and Catherine Stiles.


She remarried in 1843 to Solomon Langmaid and had three children: Nancy Green Langmaid

Hadley (named for Solomon's first wife), Albert Edwin Langmaid, and Elizabeth Langmaid Badger. Solomon posted a newspaper article stating discretion [desertion] by his wife in 1855. They never reconciled and Rachel was living in Michigan with George, son from her first marriage, and daughter Catherine.
