His mother Nancy Elizabeth Greene 1775-1846, was a member of the large Greene family that befriended Mr. Lincoln when he arrived in Menard County. His aunt Elizabeth Graham Greene (1785-1869), is also the aunt of William Mentor Graham (1800-1894) who is know as the friend and teacher of Abraham Lincoln.
