Ogden - Funeral services for Susan Ellen Pickett Gaut Adams 73, who died Monday at 2:20 a.m. in an Ogden hospital following a long illness, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Aultorest Mortuary with Bishop Harold Crompton of the Ogden 27th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in charge.
She was born Feb 26th 1873 in Swansea, South Wales, a daughter of William J. and Mary Ann Allen Pickett. She was reared in South Wales and moved to Ogden with her parents when 14 years of age. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had served for a number of years as a Relief Society teacher in the 9th Ward. She was a member of the auxiliary of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
She was married to Horatio L. Gaut in Ogden September 14, 1892. Mr. Gaut died April 18, 1937. She married Mr. Henry Adams in Farmington on December 9th 1939.
Survivors include the following: two foster children, Mrs. Fern Gaut Stout, San Diego, Calif and Mrs. Grace Harris, Kaansas City, Kansas; a brother, David G. Pickett, Ogden; two sisters, Mrs. Mary D. Linderman and Mrs. Elizabeth Wangsgard, Ogden.
