Murvel S. Stone dies in Lebanon

Funeral Services were held today at the Huston Funeral Home, Lebanon, for Murvel Stuart Stone Sr., a native of Wasco and resident there until 18 years of age, who died Tuesday.

Graveside services were to be held at 4pm today at the Sunrise cemetery at Wasco, with the Rev. John McMurtry officiating.

Mr Stone was born Nov. 18, 1890, and attended Locust Grove school in Sherman County. He worked for Sherman County Co-op until 1944.

He served in the Army during World War I, and married Daisy Warren in 1923. After going to Lebanon he worked at Cascade Plywood plant until retiring in 1957.

Mr Stone was a member of the First Baptist Church at Lebanon. Lebanon Lodge No. 1663. BPOF, and the American Legion. He also was a voting member of the Lebabon Community Hospital.

Survivors are 4 daughters, Mrs Gladys Wright of Lafayette, Ind., Mrs George Bolman of Lebanon, Mrs Elva Keller of Albany, and Mrs Carole Brandlein of Indianapolis; one son, Murvel S Stone, Jr.; a step-son Michael Holliday of St.Helens; two sisters Mrs Rosalie White of Wasco and Mrs Esther Kaseberg of The Dallas, and 11 grandchildren.
