MRS. EMMA J. SEES, 84, DIES NEAR BRASHEAR
Seriously Ill For 8 Weeks; Funeral Today in Brashear.
Brashear, Mo., Dec. 1. (Special) — Mrs. Emma Jane Sees, 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Zinn, 4 1/2 miles west of Brashear, Friday evening at 6 o'clock. She had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill the past eight weeks.
Funeral services will be held in the United Brethren Church this afternoon at one o'clock conducted by Rev. G. D. Hammontree, pastor of the church. Interment will be in Brashear Cemetery.
Emma Jane Strock, daughter of Myron F. and Mary Elizabeth (Kelley) Strock, was born in Holmes County, Ohio, on June 26, 1861. She came to Missouri when a small girl, locating near Brashear.
She was married to James Sees, Jan. 1, 1884. To this union seven children were born, all of whom were at her bedside at the time of her death. They are: Mrs. Ina Grimes, of Limon, Colo.; Mrs. Essie Polley, of Milliken, Colo.; Irvie Sees, of Kirksville; Ray, of La Plata; Dale, of Kirksville; Glenn, of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Mae Zinn, of Brashear. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ellen Propst, of Kirksville, and Mrs. Fredrica A. Crow, of Fort Dodge, la.; one brother, Lucian Strock, of Newark, Mo. Her husband died July 7, 1917.
Mrs. Sees moved to Brashear about 25 years ago. She was a member of the United Brethren church.
The body will lie in state at the family home in Brashear.
Pallbearer will be Albert Walters, Elza Walters, Elmer Patterson, Nim Platz, Pearl Miles and Bert Patten.
