Sherman had lived in the Scipio area of Pittsburg County since 1907. He married Lillian Cantrell on Feb. 27, 1925. He farmed and ranched and was a member of Lone Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was survived by his wife; a son and daughter in law, James and Hazel Lott of McAlester, daughters, Mrs. C. J. (Juanita) Maisano of McAlester, Mrs. Alan (Vivian) Owens of Scipio, Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Hulin of Tecumseh and Mrs. Darrell (Margaret) Lance of Odessa, TX.
