Fern Elizabeth Keim died Feb. 7, 2008, at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City. She was 87.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1921, in Melvern, the daughter of Morrill and Mary Louise Dickey Brecheisen.

She was a lifelong resident of Melvern. She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Melvern United Methodist Church.

On July 22, 1943, she married Robert Samuel Keim, in Emporia. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2002.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Curtis Keim, of Fernandina, Fla., and Richard Lee Keim, of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Max Brecheisen, Manhattan; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at the Melvern United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Melvern Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or the Melvern United Methodist Church and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 822 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, Ks. 66451.
