Carrie was the daughter of William Edward Stroud (1858-1919) and Mary Elizabeth Glover (1863- )

Carrie's first marriage was to Alexander Lyon. By that marriage she had a son named Earl Wallace Lyon. When she later married William Henry Ray, William raised Earl as his own son.

Carrie died soon after giving birth to a son named John, and baby John died after a few months. (John is buried in the Zillah, Washington, cemetery next to his mother, and is entered in this database).

William Ray moved his family from Washington back to Michigan where Earl helped raise the other 4 children in a motherless family.

At the time of this writing, one daughter is living. Daughter Mary Elizabeth Ray is deceased. Earl is deceased. The other two Ray sons (William and George) died when young lads, one hit by a car and the other in a fall from a bicycle.
