An illness of several months ended in the death at 9:50 p.m. Sep 16 of Mrs. Hulda Hudson Black, according to her daughter, Mrs. John Bell.
Mrs. Black was born in Fannin County May 7, 1877, the daughter of John Henry and Nancy Jane Watkins McDonald. She was married May 17, 1895 to J. H. Hudson at Marlowe, Okla. Mr. Hudson died in 1934 and in April 1950 she was married to George Black.
The husband survives with Mrs. Bell and the following other sons and daughters: Henry Hudson of Lubbock; Louis and Howell Hudson, Nocona; Floyd Hudson of Elmore City, Okla.; Mrs. Preston Lemons, Nocona; Mrs. Thomas Withrow, Fort Worth; Mrs. Melvin Hodges, Ardmore; Mrs. Florence Blackwell, Ponca City, Okla.; and Mrs. Wesley Gates, Oakdale, Calif. also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Julie Mosley of Lubbock and Mrs. Bessie Leeper of Idaho. 36 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Black settled in Clay county with her parents and later moved to Marlowe and still later to New Mexico. She had lived in Nocona for 47 years. She held membership in Bethel Baptist Church.
Last rites were held last Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Molsbee chapel with Rev. Lewis Hill officiating. Burial was in Molsbee Chapel cemetery under the direction of Scott Ross.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
