Mrs. Benedict was born February 18, 1872, in Five Forks, Quincy Township and had lived much of her life there and in the vicinity of Hade's Church. She was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Elizabeth Shank Greenawalt.
For the past 35 years, Mrs. Benedict had resided on Chambersburg, R.R 5, where she was employed as a housekeeper for H. J. Clugston. She was a member of Grindstone Hill Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a brother, B. F. Greenawalt, Zullinger; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Logue, Waynesboro and Mrs. Viola Cook, Chambersburg, and two nephews.
