Arda was born February 22, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Harry and Helen Anderson.
She spent her life in Salt Lake City, where she raised her family, pursued countless interests and hobbies, and enjoyed numerous activities with lifelong friends.
Arda married her childhood sweetheart, James K. Hewlett, in 1946 and together they raised four children.
She was preceded in death by J.K., who died in 1994, and her beloved daughter Susan, who died in 2002.
She is survived by her sons Brent (Dennise), Michael (Paule), Gary (Lori) and son-in-law Bob Shipman, as well as her grandchildren Hatty (Justin), Hart, Rachel, Afton, Walker, Hadley, and Christopher.
Her family was her treasure. Arda was a creative, dedicated person who stayed involved in her community throughout her life.
After attending the University of Utah, she became and remained active in Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a guide at the Museum of Natural History, as well as a member of the Town Club and the Neighborhood Garden Club. She served on the Woman's Board of Westminster College and PEO Sisterhood Chapter E for many years, developing and maintaining relationships that she held dear even in her final days.
Funeral Services for Arda Hewlett will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 1070 Foothill Drive, with interment following at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South.
A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary on Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
