MRS. PEARL BARTLEY TEVIS OF CALIFORNIA DIED ON XMAS DAY
Mr. Joseph E. Owrey received word from his daughter Mrs. Jean Sigler of San Marino, Calif. today of the death of his sister-in-law Mrs. Pearl Bartley Tevis, formerly of Ironton, at Los Angeles, Calif. on Christmas Day.
Mrs. Tevis will be remembered by many Ironton residents. She was born in Birmingham, Ala. on Nov 5, 1882 but was brought to Ironton during infancy and remained here until 1906 or 1907, when the family moved to Dayton. She was united in marriage to John Tevis in that city. He preceded her in death but two children, Henry, 23, and Helen, 21, survive. Mrs. Tevis and family had resided in California since 1912 and she was east on a visit only last summer. Announcement of her death will bring sorrow to many homes.
