Lawrence Weldon Fulford, 91, was born Aug. 14, 1916 to Lathe Walter Fulford and Susan Elizabeth (Moorehead) Fulford, in the small town of Purves, Texas. He married Drucilla Minnie Collier, Aug. 15, 1937 in Lubbock and they had four beautiful children together. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2001. They moved to Terry County in 1951. Lawrence farmed in and around Brownfield all of his adult life, did custom cotton stripping, hauled propane and worked odd jobs to support his family.

Lawrence is survived by four children, Larry Fulford of Brownfield, Jorita Shaffer of Lubbock, Ruth Cantrell of Lubbock and Loyd Fulford and his wife Diane of Brownfield; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral service was on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
