Alameda was born 28 May 1897 on the Dixon Ranch at the Carsen Huntley Donation Land Claim. Her mother died shortly after the birth of her younger sister, Ella, and Almeda was adopted by Stephen Douglas "Doog" Chapman and his wife Mary Halter Chapman. Death certificate spells her name Almeda but tombstone lists Alameda. She died of scarlet fever.
