Martha Jane Ferguson-Roberts-Watts was the daughter of Calvin Marion Ferguson 1832-1906 and Mary Netherland Ferguson 1856-1906. She was born January 25, 1875 in Limestone County, Texas. On January 4, 1891 she married Andrew Jackson (Jack) Roberts, son of Charles C. Roberts and Emily Wells Roberts. They had six children: Mary Emily, Charles M., Priscilla, Andrew J., Florence and Herbert M.
Andrew Jackson Roberts passed away in 1908 in Harris County, Texas. On October 22, 1909 Martha Jane married Thomas Fernie Watts. They had one child: Fernie Lee.
Thomas Fernie Watts passed away on October 12, 1942. Martha Jane passed away on November 24 1956, living to see many of her Great Grandchildren become teenagers. Martha Jane was a direct descendent of William Carpenter, a militiaman who answered the Lexington Alarm, and fought for over three years with the Continental Army in the American Revolution.
