Mary Matilda Kyle, 88, passed away Thursday July 1, 2010 at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl; MS. Visitation will be 9:00-10:30am Monday July 5, 2010 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. Graveside services will be 2:00PM Monday at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, 14150 Hwy 472 Hazlehurst, MS in Copiah County. Rev. Wallace Clark will officiate.

Mary Kyle was born in Georgetown, MS. She was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and George Peabody College for Teachers. She taught school for 41 years in the Jackson Public Schools (Bailey Jr. High) and in Copiah County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, the Retired Teacher's Association, and Alpha Delta Kappa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred F. Kyle, Sr., and Mary Emma Gandy Kyle; and brothers, Robert A. Kyle, P.B.(Pete) Kyle, and Alfred (Slick) Kyle, Jr. Survivors include her sister, Lavelle Kyle Hearn of Hattiesburg, MS; and a number of nieces and nephews who fondly remember her as "Aunt Monk".

Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Baptist Foundation and designated for the Mr. and Mrs. Alfred F. Kyle, Sr. and Mary Matilda Kyle Memorial Scholarship Fund. Memorials may be mailed to the Mississippi Baptist Foundation, P.O. Box 530, Jackson, MS 39205.
