Abner H. Bentz.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home for Abner H. BENTZ, 55, who died Wednesday at this home, 1700 W. 30th. He had a heart attack, a relative reported.
He was born April 15, 1910 at Milford in Geary County.
He was employed by Kansas Power and Light Company, April 15, 1930 and worked as an engineering clerk until March 1937 when he was transferred to Abilene where he was a dispatcher-switchbroard operator. He returned to Topeka Dec. 14, 1944 and was a system dispatcher at Tecumseh. He had been chief system load dispatcher for KPL since May 1950.
He was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge No. 204.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edythe Bentz, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn RUGGLES, 2413 W. 29th, Terrace; three brothers, Donald Bentz, Milford, Robert Bentz, Junction City, and Reuben Bentz, San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine ROTH and Mrs. Dorothy SCHWEITZER, both of Junction City, and a granddaughter.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
