Mildred M. Boone, 94, Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

She was born March 3, 1916, in Dugger to the late John and Sadie (Ebden) Pinkerton. She married Joe K. Boone, and he preceded her in death in March 1991.

Mildred graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in 1937 and later was employed there as a registered nurse. She also was employed by Johnson Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Greenwood Christian Church, Sisters in Christ Sunday School Class and Martha Circle, and Alpha Chapter of Phi Gamma Sorority.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Gregory) Doyle of Greenwood and Marsha (John) Patterson of Denver; a sister, Joann Kelley of Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
