Evelyn Maxine Thompson Roberts passed away on Friday, September 26, 2003, at her home, with her family by her side. Evelyn was born Sunday, December 2, 1928, in Bluebell, Duchesne County, Utah. She was the seventh of ten children, born to Franklin Benjamin and Laura Anderson Thompson.

Evelyn married Earl Thomas Roberts on July 27, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two sons, Lanny E. (JoAnne Hyder) Roberts, Arven (Julia Winward) Roberts; and a daughter, Susan M. Roberts, who passed away January 12, 1979. Evelyn and Earl raised Susan's son, Macon Roberts, as their own son.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Earl; sister, Donna Brown; and brother, Billy (Gaila) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Marie Thompson and Myrth Roberts; her sons; 8 grandchildren: Frank (Shelly Spencer) Roberts, Sheri (Rob) Barnett, Natalie (Eric) Lowry, Mike Roberts, Laurie (JonPaul) Bruno, Ryan (Jaylin Stock) Roberts, Matt Roberts, and Zeb Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Additional survivors include Earls sisters: Pearl, Leora, Meetta, Donnetta, and Jane. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Guy, Edmund, Morland, Lola, Della, Lester, Phil; and daughter, Susan.

Evelyn was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions during her life. She loved to sew, cook, quilt, paint, and especially enjoyed china painting, for which she received many ribbons and awards. Her family will always remember her famous Huckleberry Pie.

We would like to thank Aunt Donna and Julee Betts for the love and support they have given the Roberts Family. We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and health care workers who have been a part of Evelyn's life the last few years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos First Ward Chapel, 400 East 200 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Monday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove; and at the church, on Tuesday, one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
