Jack V. Gates, 26, was seriously injured at Big Spring from an oil derrick accident. He lived in Olney, Texas for many years making his home with Mr. and Mrs. John Wix. Jack was a boy who was liked by all who knew him, always with a cheerful greeting and a helping hand. He was laid to rest in the Forestburg cemetery.

Survived by his wife and baby.
