She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Virginia, the daughter of
Rudolph and Bessie Trussell Jokisch.
She married Roy Reichert March 8, 1936, at the home of her parents in Bluff Springs, and he preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1996.
She is survived by one son,
Randal (wife, Sue) of Bluff Springs;
one daughter,
Kathy McMurl (companion, Terry Buhlig) of Bluff Springs;
six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Jokisch.
Mrs. Reichert graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1931. She also graduated from Decatur Macon County Hospital School of Nursing in 1935 as a registered nurse. She was an active member of the Bluff Springs United Methodist Church, Beardstown Woman's Club, and the First National Bank of Beardstown Premiere Choice Club. She enjoyed spending every Tuesday with the "Girls' Club" and going out to eat. She was a frequent writer for Capper's Weekly and delighted in spending many hours working puzzles, reading, and following her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bluff Springs United Methodist Church, with burial at the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4:30-7 p.m. today at the Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Her remains will also lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Bluff Springs United Methodist Church or Elks Crippled Children.
