ADAM, Cathy Ann -- Cathy Ann ADAM, 55, of Ottumwa, died at 7:11 p.m. Sept. 28, 2005, at Hospice House in Ottumwa after a two year battle with cancer.

The funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Ottumwa with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield at a later date.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the family present from 4-7 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.

In lieu flowers (sic), a memorial has been established to Hospice.

Mrs. ADAM was born July 14, 1950, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Charles Donald and Arlene BELZER SHAFER. She married David T. ADAM Nov. 28, 1970.

Mrs. ADAM was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1968.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Batavia TTT Ottumwa Quilt Guild and ____land Boot Scooters (column corner missing).

Survivors include her husband; one son Gregory ADAM and wife Brandi of Libertyville; one granddaughter; her father, Don SHAFER of Ottumwa; one sister, Sharon STATON of Oskaloosa; and one brother, Larry SHAFER of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by one son, Christopher M. ADAM, and her mother, Arlene SHAFER.
