Ina Mae James, 74, of Cooper, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at her home in Cooper.
The family will hold a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, with grandson Brian Nash, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel.
Our mother was the FOUNDATION of our family. She was born in Grannis, AR on May 1,1939, the daughter of Ethan E. and Faye Casswell Wheeler. She grew up and attended schools in Grannis, AR. She married John Lonnie James on May 21, 1956, in Durant, OK. She and her husband moved their family to Cooper in 1970, where they owned and operated a sawmill and logging company. They both instilled great life attributes by teaching their children how to work hard, be responsible individuals, and how to love family and friends. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1986. She was employed by Sherwood Medical in Commerce for 16 years until her retirement. She enjoyed working in the yard, visiting with all of her friends, and most importantly, taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Wayne Wheeler, Ray Wheeler, Darrell Wheeler, and sisters; Lois Marie Wheeler and Sue Chambers.
She is survived by 5 sons; Ken James and wife Leslie of Lake Creek, Ricky James and wife Cheryl of Windom, Randy James of Cooper, Steve James and wife Wendy of Enloe, Keith James and wife Paige of Commerce; daughters; Lucretia Nash and husband Wes of Gentry, AR, and Lori Guffey & husband Charlie of Lake Creek; brothers, Dwight Wheeler and wife Jeannie of Arlington, and Jerry Wheeler of Grannis, AR; sister Judy Southerland of Peoria, IL; granchildren, Jharrod James, Audra Lappin, Josh James, Skulair James, Laci Swafford, Joni James, Jourdan James, John-David James, Jeremiah James, Karli James, Jesse James, Brian Nash, Andy Nash, Michael Nash, Kristi King, Jamie Long, 10 great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pall bearers will be grandsons; Andy Nash, Michael Nash, Jharrod James, Josh James, Jeremiah James, John-David James, Sammy Long, Mike King, and Josh Lappin.
