Floyd Earl Adamson, 88, of Lebanon passed away Tuesday at Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon.

Floyd was born in Fullerton, Neb., the son of Leslie Earl and Helen (Bailey) Adamson. He lived in Nebraska throughout his childhood, where he attended and completed school. After high school, Floyd joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He then served in the U.S. Army in Italy and North Africa during World War II. He moved to Lebanon in 1951, where he had resided since.

He worked for Mayflower as a milk delivery man for several years. He then began his career at Western Veneer (later became Griggs Willamette Industries), where he worked as a press operator for many years. He retired in 1984. He then worked as a greeter at Walmart in Lebanon and in Yuma, Ariz., for several years.

Floyd was an active member of the Nazarene Church in Lebanon. He enjoyed his trips to winter in Yuma. He also enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and playing card and board games.

Floyd married Vida F. White in Eugene on Nov. 26, 1953. Vida preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2008.

He is survived by daughters Sandra Wold of Lincoln City and Retha Adamson of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; son Kent Adamson of Albany; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
