Leta May Smith, 85, lifetime Ellensburg resident, died Sunday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. She was born in Ellensburg, November 7, 1888, a daughter of Clara Olmstead Smith and George Wellington Smith. She graduated from Washington State University where she was a member of Phil Kappa Phi. She taught at the Junior High in Ellensburg and Central Washington State College in the field of history.

She attended the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Daughter of the American Revolution, Daughters of Pioneers of Washington, and Daughters and Founders of the Colonies.

She is survived by one sister, Miss Clareta Olmstead Smith of Ellensburg. Funeral services for the family will be held on Wednesday, the Rev. Donald Meekhof will officiate.
