Served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
Roy F. "Skip" Otteni, 59, 14325 Porter Road, Waterford, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at his home. He was born in McKean, April 6, 1940, son of Marjorie Otteni Viera of Erie and the late Roy Otteni.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He owned Otteni Landscaping and operated a farm, then worked as a fireman at the former Academy High School. He was a member of the Waterford American Legion Post 285. He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Otteni.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna Driscoll Otteni; a son, Roy Otteni in Germany; two daughters, Michelle Patsy and Jaci Phillips of Erie; three stepsons, Randy Buettner of McKean and John and Kurt Buettner of Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Teri Flagg of Tupelo, Miss., and Valery Buettner of Erie; two sisters, Eleanor Peggs of Wyoming,
N.Y., and Marilyn Sobus of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, David Otteni of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc. West, 536 W. 10th St., today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Wednesday at 1 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Duane Pinney of Washington Valley Church. Burial with full military honors by the Waterford American Legion Post 285 will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
