He was the son of Elijah Asbury Catron & Lithia Jane Edens. He was deaf & dumb and attended the Tennessee School for deaf & dumb on the 1900 Census. He was married to Rose Plocher and Clyta C. Fisher. He and Clyta had a son born in 1927 & a daughter named Alice May Catron.
