PERRY - Ouida Smith Andel, 96, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Services will be held at 2P.M. on Friday, July 2, 2010 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Fort Valley with Rev. Jeff Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry. Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Fort Valley.
Born in Helena to the late Luther Preston Smith and Daisy Lucile Rogers Smith, Mrs. Andel was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Fort Valley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Valley where she taught the 3 year old Sunday School Class for 63 years. She touched the hearts of generations of families in her church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Susanne Andel of Perry; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Zona Smith of Marietta. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Andel and a son, Jerry Andel.
