There is a request to have Roy's name changed to Aebly however as shown below I feel that his name Roy Ably is correct.

The Ably family name was spelled Ably, Abby, Aebly, Aebley, Abley most likely by the person who transcribed it on the document by how they interpreted the pronunciation of their name.

Fred and Ida had 4 children one, Daniel died in 1888 at the age of 4 and is buried in Sprague, Wa., in a unmarked grave, Sarah May died 11 Nov 1908 at the age of almost 10 and is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Farmington, Wa., her headstone has her last name spelled Ably.

Roy Ably died on 13 Dec 1968 in Aberdeen, Wa., and is buried in the Fern Hill Cemetery. All of the documents I have found including his obituary has his name spelled as Ably as are all of his descendant's.

Perry appears to be the only family member who spelled his name Aebly and was living in Spokane, Wa., when his mother came to live with him after his father Fred died in Mar 1943, she died three months later and Perry had her buried in Spokane, Wa.
I suspect he provided her headstone and had her last name spelled Aebly however almost all of her documents show the name spelled Ably as was her Washington Death Records .

Suggested edit: Roy was born to Fred and Ida (Snider) Ably in Monroe, Wisconsin. He worked on the Green Chain at the Bay City Mill. He was survived by wife Mattie Baker Ably, daughter Mrs. Hazel Pratt and son Robert Ably, as well as brother Perry Ably.
