Funeral for Thelma Pearl Edge Whitewolf, 90, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Scott Comanche United Methodist Church with Marvin Delaware, pastor, officiating.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with June Sovo officiating.

She went to her heavenly home Monday, June 28, 2010, at her son's home in Anadarko surrounded by her loving family.

Burial will follow at Mt. Scott Kiowa KCA Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Thelma was born Feb. 7, 1920, in the rural Gracemont area, to Frank Edge and Minnie Williams. Thelma graduated from Fort Sill Indian School in 1939. Thelma married Howard Whitewolf in February 1941 in Duncan, and they made their home on four-mile road in the shadow of Mt. Scott since 1941. She was a member of Mt. Scott Comanche United Methodist Church, the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, an Esa Rosa Descendents active member for more than 36 years, and a charter member of All American Indian VFW Auxiliary in Anadarko. She was one of the eldest full-blood members of the Caddo Nation. Thelma loved making shawls, attending pow wows throughout the United States, sewing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law: Frank and Susan Whitewolf, of Lawton; Gordon and Gina Whitewolf, of Anadarko; and Winifred Pope, of Lawton; brothers: Tony Edge, of Anadarko; and Bill White, of Tulsa; sisters: Peggy Swanson, of Tulsa, Kathy Edge, of Anadarko; and Sarah Edge, of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Roderick Whitewolf and wife, Pat; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; adopted sons: Larry Lyles, of Lawton; Will Naranjo, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Dwight LittleCreek, of Shawnee; and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Edge and Minnie Williams; husband, Howard Whitewolf; a daughter, Shirley Baras; brothers: Marlin Brown, Jerald Edge, Kenneth Edge; and sisters: Velma Edge and Marie Edge.
