L.L.Bragg was the son of Wm. T. Bragg and Patience Sevier Bragg. Direct descendant of General John Sevier, the first governor of Tennessee. Gen. Sevier fought against the Cherokee Indians in the Indian wars. Since our family has Cherokee blood on my grandfather's side (Dave Patterson), His mother was Nancy watts (Cherokee Indian), one side of our family fought against the other side between 1790 and 1815. At the end of the Indian wars, Chief John Watts Jr. sided with General Sevier and his American Army.

L. L. Bragg was married to Nancy Elizabeth (Biswell) Bragg. They had two children. Myrtle and Virgie.

The Cherokee Indians were one of the five civilized tribes.
