Amanda Christine Bloomquist was born the 26th of February 1869 in Jonkoping, Sweden to Josua and Johanna Lind Blomquist (later changed to Bloomquist). She had four sisters, Emma (Allen), Hulda. Hilma (Sandberg) and Hilda (Skar) and one brother Axel.

Amanda married Victor Gustafson about 1889, the same year she immigrated to the United States.
Amanda and Victor had four children:
Alice L. who married Adolph Freeburg
Richard who married Rose Norton
Esther who married Reuben Lofgren
and Signe who married Elmer Miller.

Amanda died the 31st of March 1960 in Jamestown, NY
