He had six children:
1) William
2) Mabel
3) Bessie
4) Elmer
5) Grace
6) Edith

After a lingering illness, James W. Hendershot died at his home, No. 57 South Lincoln Avenue, at 7:30 o'clock Monday night. He had been ill since last November and for the last six weeks had been confined to his bed.
Mr. Hendershot was 49 years old on November 4 and was a native of Sussex County, having been born near Andover. His widow, the formerly Miss Isabella Winters, was from that neighborhood. They came to Washington about 16 years ago.
He was employed in the Cornish Factory and was a member of the Cornish Employees' Mutual Benefit Association. He was also a member of the local Red Men and Knights of the Golden Eagle.
Besides his widow, he leaves these children; William of Newton, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Washington, Mrs. Herbert Wilson of Wilkes-Barre, and Grace and Edith living at home. His only brother is Oscar of Washington.
Dr. F.L. West will conduct the funeral services at his late home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery.
