After a 3 weeks' illness resulting from a stroke of paralysis, Alfred Frazier Claybaugh, 59 years old, died on Sun. [8/21/1938] afternoon at 4:28 o'clock at his home about 3 miles north of Paris on Route 1. His condition had been serious since the seizure.
Mr. Claybaugh was a son of Johnson and Salina Patton Claybaugh and was born in Edgar county on 1/20/1879. His entire life was spent in Edgar county.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Gertrude H. Brown; 3 children, Mrs. Sam Hinds, Dayton, O.; Mrs. Lloyd Reynolds, and James Claybaugh, both of Paris; 2 grandchildren, Barbara Reynolds and Danny Lois Claybaugh; and 1 brother, Oathe E Claybaugh, residing 6 miles NW of Paris. A brother, Ollie and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Brown, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock Tues. [8/24/1938] afternoon, the Rev. Charles E Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Edgar cemetery. The body was taken today to the residence from the Blume funeral home.
