Frances Slaybaugh was the daughter of Robert and Katie Carter. She graduated from Crosbyton High School. She married Odie Karr on June 19, 1932, in Clovis, New Mexico. She married William Dean Slaybaugh in 1965 in Amarillo. Survivors include her children, Carolyn Christian, Edith Hixson, Dr. Carter Karr, Robert Karr, David Karr, and Ted Karr, her sister, Catherine Blackwood, 17 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Trinity Baptist Church. Graveside services were held in Crosbyton Cemetery.
