Funeral services for James Harrison Tolar, 79, of Palestine were held Thursday, July 1, 2010, in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Livingston.
Pallbearers were Rusty Evans, Andy Evans, Gary Redd, Clint Ratliff, Marlon Ratliff and Jerrell Shaver.
He was born June 5, 1931 in Woodville, the son of Judge Clifton Tolar and Liddie Ellen Collins Tolar, and died June 27, 2010 in Palestine.
He is survived by his daughters, Louise and husband Burlen Ratliff, Betty and husband Steve Redd, Brenda and husband Darwon Evans and Pamela and husband Jerrell Shaver; brother, Judge Tolar and wife Cindy; sisters, Gertie Gibson, Bessie LeBlanc, Ida Barrett and husband Raymond and Nellie Brannon; grandchildren, Marlon Ratliff and wife Georgeanne, Clint Ratliff and wife Stephanie, Vivky Ratliff, Julie Morton, Gary Redd and wife Kristen, Rusty Evans and wife Donanna, Lorretta Lilley and husband Michael, Andy Evans and wife Ashley, Jimmy Hebert and wife Karylanne, Travis Fiedler, Tiffany Fiedler and Judge Tolar and 18 great-grandchildren.
