Dr. Robert L Lackey, 67, Anderson, died Jan 11 1998, at St. John's Medical Center after a sudden illness.

He was born Sept 8 1930, in Indianapolis and lived in Anderson for 41 years. He practiced dentistry for 39 years, retiring two and on-half years ago.

He was a member of the Madsion County Dental Association, East Central Dental Association, National Dental Association and served on the Madison County Board of Health, Urban League board of directors and Indiana State Easter Seals board. He was currently a member of East Maplewood Cemetery board of directors.

He attended Butler University and was a graduate of Indiana University and Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was a member of IU Varsity Club and Alumni Association.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Douglas Men's Club champion, Grandview en's Club, Old Oakland Golf Club and Western Seniors Golf Association.

Survivors include his wife, Dr. Anna Bond Lackey, son, Robert Lee (wife, Jeanette) Lackey of Anderson, daughter, Anne (husband Bernard) Lackey-Brummell of Sacramento, Calif, mother Gertrude Owsley Lackey of Indianapolis, two sisters, Mary Jane Bellamy and Joanna Browder of Indianapolis, three grandchildren, India Marie Lackey, Ian Edward Brummell and Nia June Brummell and an uncle, any aunts, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemmetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Vigil service will be conducted at 5pm Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice program.
